Terrain

Open access to rural terrain that replicates jungles found in as Central America, South America, South East Asia and Sub-Sahara Africa and includes the access to the Apalachicola River, which spans over one hundred miles.  The environment is the ideal area in which to perform real-world testing of sensory, communication and weapons systems.

Targets and Scenarios

ARTiC offers specialized targets and scenarios such as full signature drug labs, downed aircraft and personnel/vehicle movement.

Ability for multi-disciplinary unit integration through river, jungle, air, sea and urban environments

Locations

The Blountstown facility is centrally located about one hour's drive from Tyndall AFB. The main ARTiC compound is located just north of Blountstown in Altha, FL, and is situated on the Calhoun County Airport. The Facility is very close to the Apalachicola River, providing easy access to the area's waterways, and several different types of terrain.

The Apalachicola facility is located in the Florida Panhandle near Naval Support Activity Panama City (NSA PC), Eglin AFB and Tyndall AFB on the Apalachicola Regional Airport and provides easy access to rivers, inter coastal waterways and the Gulf of Mexico
